Britney Spears said she 'tapped' Wembanyama rather than grabbing him.

Los Angeles Victor Wembanyama, a rookie for the San Antonio Spurs, claimed on Thursday that he thinks Britney Spears grabbed him from behind as he was entering a restaurant at a Las Vegas casino and that the pop diva was pulled away by the security detail he was with.

Wembanyama claimed that it took hours for him to learn that Spears had seized him.

According to TMZ, who first published claimed details of the incident, which allegedly occurred Wednesday night outside a restaurant at the ARIA hotel and casino, Spears filed a police report alleging she was struck by a security officer while attempting to catch the attention of Wembanyama.

Accordingto TMZ, Spears tapped Wembanyama on the shoulder to try to gain his attention for a photo but instead got hit in the face and had her glasses knocked off.

On Thursday afternoon, Spears commented on the incident on her Instagram story, calling it "super embarrassing to share with the world but it's out there already."

Wembanyamaclaimed that Spears had grabbed him, but Spears denied this, claiming that she had only "simply tapped him on the shoulder" and that his security had "backhanded me in the face without looking back, in front of a crowd." I was almost knocked over, and it nearly knocked my spectacles off my face.

Spears stated, "I have yet to get a public apology from the player, his security, or their organization. Hopefully, they will

Withoutnaming any specific people, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department told the Los Angeles Times that officers had been called to the address for a "battery investigation." In addition, the statement stated that "no arrest or citations have been issued" and that "no further details will be provided at this time."

Wembanyama claimed that as he entered the restaurant, security told him not to pause for anyone because doing so might spark a commotion and allow a crowd to gather.

Wembanyamaadmitted that "something did happen, sort of, when I was walking with some security from the team to some restaurant." "In the hall, we were. People were calling (at) me obviously since there were so many of them there. One individual called me, but we had already spoken with security.

I wasunable to stop. "That person grabbed me from behind while calling out, 'Sir, sir,'" Wembanyama added. "I wasn't stopping and was walking straight, so I didn't see what happened. The individual who did that grabbed me from behind, not from my shoulder. I just knew that she was pushed away by security. Security shoved her away, but I'm not sure how hard. I skipped the lookout.

Wembanyamaclaimed that up until Thursday, he was not aware that the incident had made headlines.

"I didn't know for a couple of hours, but when I returned to the hotel... I thought it was no big deal, and then the security of the Spurs told me it was Britney Spears," said Wembanyama. "At first, I thought you had to be kidding, but it turned out to be Britney Spears. Never did I see her face. I simply continued going straight.

Even on Wednesday night, Spears said she was "swarmed by people," but her security team "didn't hit any of them." She implored "people in the public eye to set an example and treat all people with respect."

The Spurs' game against the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night in Las Vegas will mark Wembanyama's NBA Summer League debut. On Wednesday night at ARIA, he signed a few autographs for fans, and on Thursday morning, as he entered a nearby high school for practice with the Spurs, he did the same for a few curious observers.
